Questions families ask

What is a realistic fee increase?

British schools raised fees by 5 to 8 percent a year in 2023 and 2024 before VAT added 20 percent in January 2025. Swiss schools increase by 2 to 4 percent, German schools by 3 to 5. We default to 5 percent.

What do extras cost?

Between 8 and 20 percent of the fee: school trips, music lessons, sports tours, uniforms, insurance, exam fees, pocket money and the flights or drives home. Tutoring is on top and can be 5,000 to 30,000 euros a year around exams.

How to find a private tutor who is worth the fee
