Salaries for household staff are a mystery until you have paid a few. These are the market ranges, with the employer costs most families forget.
Social security contributions paid by the employer are around 42 percent in France and 30 percent in Spain, against 12 percent in Switzerland and 5 percent in the Emirates. Net pay is what the nanny sees; the cost to you is the gross plus these contributions.
